Bathroom Design

Bathroom design can be critical for a small powder room as well as a luxurious master bathroom. Have you ever had a tissue holder that just wont stay attached to a wall - or been in a bath were the storage was weak or awkward?

Our certified bath designers understand that each bathroom has its own function in a house depending on the size of the home, the size of the family, and the needs of everyone living there. Today, we see the trends have more emphasis on storage, ergonomics and products that will provide our clients with less maintenance issues- and of course we want to make it beautiful on the way. When you are planning, here are some rules of thumb that may be helpful.

  • Plans are critical for hardware, fixture and lighting and anything tile that is more than a plain square or diagonal field tile.
  • Consider dual flush toilets, especially in powder rooms - because they are cool – and save water.
  • For powder rooms, you have an opportunity to get the best bang from higher end materials. Proportionately, the materials will be a smaller part of the budget and your guests will love it… yes, the powder room and your dual flush toilet can be conversation pieces
  • Families with young children should avoid shower doors so bath time is safer, once the youngest is 6-8 years old… shower doors will keep the ceiling below stainless!
  • Look at large format floor tiles for any size space- large tiles provide architectural weight and help balance heavy bath materials like cabinets and toilets.
